First Day Jitters!

So I officially begin my first full time job in 8 hours and 42 minutes time and I can feel the butterflies settling in a bit. Since my first post I have received my name badge and keys to my centre, and tomorrow I am going to a series of PD sessions from 8:45 to 1:00 with all of the educators in our district. Wednesday will be a set up day and centre-specific meetings, and on Thursday and Friday I'll finally get to meet the 52 kiddies I'll be working with, and their families!

If I am completely honest and candid right now, I've been perusing various Australian teaching blogs, and seeing all of their lovely 2013 classrooms taking shape is making me feel a bit sad that I'm not in a primary teaching position this year (I couldn't choose between primary and preschool, but I was offered the preschool position first!), which has dampened my excitement a bit. Plus, I'm still in the stage of realising I won't be seeing any of the fabulous children I've worked with for the past two and a half years again either. I haven't really had to do much preparation for this year at all, so it hasn't really hit me that by the end of the week I will be a part of a collaborative teaching team with the welfare of two groups of children in our hands... so before I go to bed for the night, I'm off to pinterest and blogs to hopefully work up some enthusiasm and excitement!

It's getting close now...

Oh my goodness I start my first graduate job in 12 days, and I'm getting pretty nervous :) Turns out I'll be working in a kindergarten / preschool for my first year out of uni, which I am super excited about! I've always wanted to try my hand in both kindergarten and primary school settings, and I'm just really happy I've been able to secure a full time position.

Not sure how this blog will evolve over time, but I'm planning on using it as a place to reflect, query, wonder, explain, hypothesise and even rant whenever I need to. Mostly, I'm very intrigued at what it will be like looking back at my musings around this time next year.
